Delicious Baklava Recipe


Ingredients:
 Butter 1 / 2 lb drawn (without salt)
1 pound chopped nuts (pistachios can be substituted)
1 ½ cups sugar
 2-3 teaspoons orange blossom water
1 teaspoon crushed mahlab (optional)
1 ½ cups water
1 pound puff pastry
Melted butter for brushin
The juice of ½ lemon

Preparation:

Filling: Mix the butter, nuts, ½ cup sugar, 1-2 teaspoons orange blossom water, and mahlab well, refrigerate and let stand for a while. You can make a day ahead. Combine the remaining sugar and water, leading to a boil until it reaches the stage of string * (do not stir frequently). Set syrup aside to cool until it is baked Baklava. Divide the puff pastry in half. A brush of 9 by 13 inches with butter.  Place the filling on top layer and sprinkle with a little melted butter.  Layer the remaining sheets of dough as before. No piece of butter on top. Cut the dough into a square / triangle / diamond. Place in a preheated oven at 375 degrees and bake for 35-45 minutes or until browned. Remove from oven Baklava. Immediately add the lemon juice and 1 tsp. orange blossom water for cooling and pour sugar syrup over hot Baklava. Let stand 15-20 minutes and then serve hot.
