Fried Chicken, An American Recipe


Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper and place in a shallow baking pan. Sprinkle lightly with 1/2 cup flour.

In a bowl, beat egg with a fork, add milk and continue beating until well blended. Pour the egg mixture over the chicken and let stand for about five minutes.

In a large bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, Mrs. Dash Original sage seasoning, and flour. Cover the chicken well, a piece at a time and place on a wire rack. Leave on a wire rack for about fifteen minutes. The seasoning time and allow to soak in chicken meal and no excess flour on the bottom of the pan.

Heat oil in a Dutch oven or heavy saucepan to 350 degrees or determine that the oil is hot for his own method. Fry in batches of three pieces for ten to twelve minutes. When does the chicken should be golden and crisp on the outside and moist and well done inside. Drain on paper towels. Serves five people who suffer from hunger.
